Beyond Boundaries:

Eric's art transcends geographical borders. His work spans continents, adorning warehouses, factories, and urban landscapes worldwide. Each mural tells a unique story, capturing the essence of the surroundings and reflecting the aspirations of the community it inhabits. The artist's journey began in Virginia Beach, where he initially worked in construction. However, his passion for art led him to explore painting designs on surfboards, and eventually, motorcycles. Painting a Hell's Angels’ bike was a turning point in his career, as it opened doors to more opportunities worldwide. One particular thrill for Eric is working at great heights. Being 180 feet in the air provides a bird's eye view and adds an extra level of excitement to his work. This unique perch has allowed him to witness encroaching storms along with beautiful sunsets.

Collaboration and Impact:

Collaborating with industrial clients, Eric becomes an integral part of the creative process. His ability to grasp the essence of a project and translate it into monumental artwork is remarkable. The impact of his murals extends far beyond painting a structure, often becoming landmarks and symbols within communities.

The artist reflects on the changes he has witnessed throughout his career. In the past, water towers were often painted in a single color, usually white or a simple shade of blue. The block lettering used on most towers was equally unremarkable, a utilitarian identification of the town or city’s location.

However, in recent years, Eric has noticed a shift in communities' attitudes towards their water towers. He have observed an increasing sense of pride and progress in how these structures are painted. The artist believes that initiatives such as Tnemec’s "Tank of the Year" contest have played a role in promoting more elaborate designs and paint schemes.

In the realm of industrial murals, Eric Henn is not just an artist but a visionary whose creations stand as testaments to the fusion of art and functionality.
