Wamego, Kansas

Along with the OZ Museum, an actual yellow brick road and the local restaurant, Toto’s Tacoz, the town of Wamego, Kan., added another Oz-themed attraction to its community in 2019: its newly coated elevated water tank. All the bright colors on this tank – brick-road yellows, ruby reds and Emerald City greens – come together in a design vivid enough to help the town and its attractions stand out to locals and passersby alike. To help the design last, the tank’s mural was created using eight different shades of Tnemec’s fluoropolymer finish, Series 700 HydroFlon, which is specifically designed for long-term color and gloss retention. The elevated water tank now stands as the tallest Oz landmark in the town.
