Tell City, Indiana

The history behind Tell City, Indiana’s apple and arrow design dates back to 1307 when marksman William Tell was challenged to shoot an apple off of his son’s head as punishment for Tell’s rebellion against Hermann Gessler’s brutal rule. Tell was successful in his marksmanship, creating a legacy in the town that continued with the symbol of an apple and arrow even centuries later. The artwork uses a Tnemec coating system featuring Series 700 HydroFlon.
