The “Happiest Place on Earth” is now even more enduring. When the lagoon under Disneyland’s Toon Town Gadget Go Coaster needed a coating solution and fast, the team knew who to call.
Collaborating closely with Disneyland and field applicator Angelus Waterproofing, based in Huntington Beach, California, Tnemec addressed the unique demands of this project. The lagoon required a coating system that could withstand immersion service while meeting strict requirements for color vibrancy and VOC compliance.
“Angelus Waterproofing was struggling with supply issues from other manufacturers. Waiting months for materials was not an option for a Disneyland Project,” said TPC Coatings Consultant, Chris Hille.
This innovative project involved providing a robust coating solution for the lagoon, ensuring lasting beauty and durability for this iconic amusement park. Rising to the challenge, Tnemec’s Series L69 Hi-Build Epoxoline II.
During the application process, both spray and roller methods were utilized, ensuring efficient and precise coating installation. The coating’s generous recoat window surpassed expectations, allowing for a seamless and flawless finish.
Adding to the magic, was the vivid Toon Fountain Blue color. Responding to Disneyland’s request for a more vibrant hue, Tnemec’s coating specialists worked diligently to create the perfect shade, ensuring the lagoon became an eye-catching centerpiece in the Toon Town Gadgets Go Coaster area.
“We take pride in being a part of this extraordinary project at Disneyland. Our team’s commitment and the outstanding collaboration with the professionals at Disneyland and Angelus Waterproofing have resulted in a remarkable success, and we are honored to have contributed to the magic of Disney” Hille added.
Tnemec’s promise of excellence and innovation shone through in this project, showcasing the ability to knock it out of the park every time. The beauty and durability of the lagoon’s coating solution further solidify Disneyland as the “Happiest Place on Earth” for generations to come.
