In early 2020, the City of Cumming Hometown Pride Committee sent out a call for artists to paint a unique mural on their 84,000-gallon standpipe. Des Moines artist and muralist, Ben Schuh, answered the call and proposed a stylish design that incorporated three Cumming staples: trains, the old schoolhouse and bike trails. To save money on costly surface preparation, applicators used Series 118 Uni-Bond Mastic to overcoat the previous coating system before Schuh used Series 1029 Enduratone, a high-performance acrylic polymer, in several colors to create the town’s newest piece of art.
