Common Usage
A fiberglass mat reinforced coatings system for walls and ceilings providing cleanability and protection against chemical and physical abuse. Provides a high-performance, smooth, seamless surface with excellent chemical, stain, impact and abrasion resistance.

Series 273 meets the requirements of LEED-Low-Emitting Materials, Collaborative for High Performance Schools-Paints & Coatings, WELL Building Standard-VOC Restrictions, and Living Building Challenge–Healthy Interior Performance. Contact your Tnemec representative for more information.

If more than 72 hours have elapsed between coats, the coated surface must be mechanically abraded before topcoating.
Surfacer/Filler/Patcher
CMU, Concrete & Cement Board: Series 215 or 218. Series 201 or 273 mixed with fumed silica (refer to Technical Bulletin 98-11). Note: Series 215 can also be used as a bedding coat for Series 273 Stranlok ML system. Refer to the applicable product data sheet for additional information.
Topcoats
Series 22, 73, 113, 114, 280, 280FC, 282, 287, V290, 297, 1080, 1081. Note: Series 273 saturant coat must be topcoated with 22, 280, 280FC, 282, or 287, prior to application of 73, 113, 114, V290, 297, 1080, or 1081 finish coats. Refer to the applicable product data sheet for color availability and additional information.
Primers
Wall Board, Wood & Drywall: Self-priming or Series 151, 201, 233
Note: For taping joints on wall board or drywall in areas that will be frequently wet, subject to chemical cleaning, thermal shock, impact, and VHP (or similar) cleaning, use Sheetrock brand Durabond 90. For taping joints on wood or cement board, use Series 273 Part D fiberglass tape and Series 215 as taping compound. Reference Technical Bulletin 21-118.

Recommended DFT
20 to 25 mils (510 to 635 microns) including fiberglass reinforcing mat.
